Materials & Care

Each piece is designed to be worn, lived in, and treasured. The materials used are chosen for both their beauty and durability, but like all jewellery, they benefit from thoughtful care.

MATERIALS

Stainless Steel & PVD Gold Tone
I use high-quality stainless steel as a base for its strength, resistance to tarnishing, and suitability for everyday wear.

The gold-tone pieces are finished using PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) — a modern coating process that bonds colour to the metal more durably than traditional plating. This creates a richer tone and improved longevity.
While PVD is highly durable, all coated jewellery will naturally soften over time depending on wear and exposure.

Seed Bead Work
My fringe earrings are carefully crafted using premium Miyuki Delica seed beads - valued for their uniform shape and durability. These pieces are delicate by nature and should be handled with care to preserve their shape and structure.

Natural Gemstones
Natural gemstones are used in most of my necklace designs. Each stone is unique, with its own variations in colour, flash, and pattern — this is part of its natural beauty, not a flaw.
Some gemstones, like the Forest Quartzite, are colour enhanced natural stone.

CARE

A few simple habits will help maintain the finish and longevity of your jewellery:
• Avoid contact with water (including showering, swimming, and the ocean)
• Keep away from perfumes, lotions, oils, and chemicals
• Remove before exercise or sleeping
• Store your jewellery in a dry place
• Gently wipe with a soft cloth after wear

Wear & Longevity
My pieces are designed for enjoyable and unhindered wear, but their lifespan will depend on how they are cared for.
Factors such as moisture, skin chemistry, friction, and frequency of wear can all affect the finish over time. Gold-tone coatings may gradually soften, high friction areas may show signs of wear faster, and delicate components (such as beadwork) require mindful handling.
This is a natural characteristic of jewellery and part of its lived-in journey.

A Note on Fringe Earrings
My Goddess fringe earrings are a mechanically demanding design - They feature 11 long beaded fringes anchored to an irregular shaped hoop. This combination can create a re-organising of tension within the fringes.
They are also sensitive to weather conditions such as humidity and temperature. You may find that your earrings go from being relaxed, to forming small gaps at the top of the fringes, to being tight and crumpled. This is perfectly normal and shows that they are adaptable to nature.

If they are too loose, lay them flat.
If they are too tight, hang them.

A Note on Care

Jewellery holds its beauty best when it is treated with intention. Taking a moment to remove, store, and care for your pieces will help preserve their finish and keep them looking radiant for longer.
